About Us

Takiya is the Hindi word for cushion.  Our covers are Made from a blend of vintage and new borders, traditionally used for special occasions.  Saris can be up to 9 yards in length, as are the borders which are carefully curated and individually chosen to create elegant and beautifully crafted cushion covers. 

Creating the covers is a complex task and each takes a long time, but our ‘fabricator’ works single handed to craft each one. The borders take a while to gather so our stocks are kept relatively low.  Because the covers are handmade there will be slight variations from time to time.
